The prices at kraken Cafe are more than reasonable in Las Vegas when you come from looking at trucks in LA. The prices of food in Las Vegas can be very cheap the thing that makes Kraken Cafe great is the fact our menu is a full meal. You get fries with every custom burger, and a great deal of love in the flavor components in the food. Our customers love to feel like they are getting a deal which is why nothing is a la carte on our truck. |

Living in a small town always has its pros and cons. A huge pro is that there's a true sense of unity and community that many do not feel when they live in a big city. Carol's Creative Cottage is a great symbol of that. Aside from her own creations, she also supports other local entrepreneurs by selling their creations as well. A favorite example of this in her store are homemade Dixie Grace candles from another member of our community. She also supports local artists by hanging their art and rotating the artists monthly. She also has the most giving and gracious heart. When I moved here from Saint Louis, I was then unfamiliar with the community and was building a new life for myself. The only person I knew in this town was my then boyfriend whom is now my husband. I literally had to start over. She did not know me but worked with my husband and she has been such a blessing to us both. Upon meeting her, I instantly felt welcomed and warmth. She's an excellent office buddy and coworker as well as a giver. For Christmas, she gave me her homemade facial scrub that not only is of quality but wrapped it beautifully. When my husband and I got married at the courthouse, she surprised him (us) with a Keurig which we love because she knew of my husband's love for coffee. One year prior to visiting Skydive City I had an intense dream. So, there I was... flying in the sky, building a formation with my sibling. Although we were falling, it seemed like we were flying. I remember most the way I felt. It was a feeling of utter tranquility mixed with a sense of euphoria. This was strange because in that same moment I thought I was going to hit the ground and die. Just before I hit the ground, of course, I wake up!! At the time, I was ignorant to what skydiving really was and I just thought people merely jumped from planes and that was that. I never gave it much more thought than that. I knew I would try it one day, but I never thought I would get the opportunity to actually do it.
About a year later my brother approached me about going skydiving. He said that he and a group of friends were going and they needed one more person to go so they would qualify for the group discount... and thus the adventure began.
Over the past four years my brother and I have both earned our USPA licenses and still continue in the hobby today. We did our first formation dive together a few years ago. Hindsight's 20/20 and with that said... Skydive City is the place dreams are made of. |

Everyone is welcome to Skydive City, skydivers can live there in RV's, Campers, or even pitch a tent! The instructors at Skydive City are all professional and put safety first! I felt comfortable since my first visit... a relaxing atmosphere, with a home-like feel. Relax on one of the swinging hammocks while watching people fall from the sky during the day or enjoy the tiki bar, conveniently located on the premises, after hours. It felt like home for me since the beginning. I knew in my heart this sport was for me and I wanted to be a part of this amazing community.
Everyone living and working within the community is a skydiver, we have that bond. With Skydive City being a small business, branching off and growing more small businesses within its community, it really shows how well the company is thriving. So everything I need is generally right here, I never have to wake up and go back to "reality." Well, except when I have to go to work and everyday things that don't involve skydiving. |

My favorite service here is the Accelerated Freefall Course (AFF Program). In this course, a USPA certified AFF instructor taught me the basics of jumping from an airplane, basically everything I need to know to save my own life after exiting the aircraft. I was taught everything from the ground up, (pun intended), beginning with a six-hour ground school discussing all aspects of freefall skydiving, aircraft procedures, equipment, canopy control, and safe landing. |

Since I have shopped at Skydive City consistently over the last four years, I can say that they have provided an excellent tourist attraction for adrenaline junkies and spectators from the community, as well as, from around the globe. Skydive city is truly committed to building strong relationships with their customers that go above and beyond, what is typical of a small business. I have personally jumped with the general manager David TK Hayes, as many new jumpers get a chance to jump with every instructor at some point during their first course. This is just one example of how management is actively involved in and participating within the small business. Skydive City finds many ways to give back to the community, such as blood drives, annual brew fests, mud runs, and so much more. I came to Skydive City and instantly fell in love with the beautiful world of flight and the small business behind the community. Thanks to the helpful staff and management at Skydive City, I was able to achieve more in the sport than I could have ever dreamed was possible and for this I am overflowing with appreciation!! |
