I live in a small rural town (Town of Linden, NC) and we have just received a park with the help of Cumberland County (our county of residence) and I think a Rock the Block Party would be a great way to introduce the community to the park and all it has to offer. Plus I think it would help bring the community together. When I was in school, we went to school in Linden and everybody knew everybody and their brother but now the children in the Linden community go to schools in Fayetteville and barely know their neighbors. Cumberland County also has Fort Bragg and therefore has a mobile population some of which live in Linden. Linden has never had anything like this and the park would be a great place to hold such an event. Please consider the breakthrough this would be for Linden.

My neighborhood is Colonial Grand at Valley Ranch. We have an awesome community and I would like to have a get-together to celebrate our achievements and also to plan future charitable deeds.

My neighborhood rocks for so many reasons- most of us have kiddos that love to play together whether it's in the street playing b-ball, jumping on the trampoline or swimming in the pool. We help each other out- someone needs their yard mowed, a dessert to pick them up or words of encouragement when they need someone to talk too. I love that we are every sense of the word "community." This block party would make us an even stronger group as we continue to grow as a neighborhood.

We are new to our hood. We'd like to get to know the people and create some lasting friendships. And our daughter just finished cancer treatment so a hearty thank you to those who stuck by and helped us out as we moved into our new digs and throughout her care is in order. It's time to party!!! To celebrate being cancer free and filling our cup to overflowing with new friendships.

We are a diverse group of people whose commonality starts with a love of good food and a share of the same geographic space. Our little patch of Earth has in the past hosted get-togethers, potlucks, and birthday parties. We cherish our time together, and feel a sense of kinship and unity. Lately though, the economy has taken a dip in our area, and we've scaled back tremendously on our activities. I would love the chance to have a great party for all of us to share good times, great food, and get to know one another all over again.

Great neighborhood culdesac. We had our 1st circle party at the beginning of summer and had the best time. We have 16 kids 9 and under in 11 homes the neighborhood is always buzzing with activity. It would be nice to be able to have everyone get together and enjoy the time to kick back and chat while we have fun with the little ones.

We have 9 homes on a cul-de-sac. 5 homes have families with children and 4 have retirees. 3 new people have moved in over the past 3 years. It can be hard to visit each other due to our schedules. I would like to throw a party help bridge the gap between the neighbors and help everyone get to know each other better. I think this would help each family build stronger bonds with each other.
